Having safely incarcerated Tiggy at The Gables Cattery we had a really easy ride down to Cornwall. We had a lovely lunch in Holsworthy at the Wilsey Down Hotel. Bacon and Cheese Ciabatta washed down with a Half of Tribute Ale.
We arrived early at Shutta Park to be greeted by Julie and Clive mowing the lawn and tidying up outside. We chucked the luggage in our lovely accomodation downed a cup of tea and set off to Tintagel for our first Ice-Cream. We were lazy and drove to Tintagel and parked in the centre. To earn our ice-cream we went to the top of the town and took the road downhill and then back up again to the little church and on to the National Trust Glebe Cliff Carpark.
We had a wonderful walk windblown in the sunshine along the Cliff tops as far as the ruins of the castle and then back up the very steep track into Tintagel. There we purchased the much needed Ice-cream Toffee crunch in a Sugar Cone - bliss.
Back to the accomodation and a quick snooze before we headed ofef to Dinner which was literally across the lane as we had been invited over by our lovely hosts.
Julie had made her own home-made Cornish Pasties which were wonderful and accompanied by lovely crunchy salad and the guys drank Stroud Brewery Bitter which we had taken with us while Julies Dad and I did our best to demolish her supply of Rose Wine.
Stuffed full of wine Pastie and salad I have no idea how I managed dessert (Oh yes I do now I remember its called Gluttony).
Well Dessert was designed for me she must have second sight. Out came two large tubs of Homemade Ice-Cream Strawberry and Whisky Fudge and Crunchie. This was spooned onto Meringues and topped off with Clotted Cream - oh my I died and went to Heaven.
We both slept very well last night in fact I didnt really wake up until later in the day.
