Its a Start - Foxglove in Oils

Been spending a lot of time gardening and worrying about minor eye op but getting a bit more back on track. This is to be my next work a beautiful Foxglove which I photographed in my garden a couple of years back.

Here it is started on a small canvas (16 by 12 )

There you go I have posted it now so it has to be finished.

I use a laptop to blow up photos to get detail correct when I can and you gotta admire a man who sees a laptop balanced on 3 boxed and then disappears into the garage.

Two days later he comes up with this :

He actually made a fitting identical to the one that locks the camera  on the tripod out of wood and screwed it to a board cut to laptop size. How cool is that.

The Dahlia is done

I followed a youtube video which explained the technique of Oiling out and am now waiting for this picture to be dry enough to Varnish. I am really pleased with it the only issue is that it isnt bigger but it was a first go.

LLanhydrock Woods
